Star Forge

Developed at the tail end of Hero Interactive, Star Forge was a fun Tower Defense game that played with the concept of using “time” as your only resource. In the middle of the screen you have your base, your Star Forge, that you must protect. It can produce one thing at a time of your choice – more towers, upgrades for your towers, or even one-time use items such as healing or bombs. What you decide to spend that time producing determines how well your base will be able to defend itself from the continuous onslaught of enemies headed your way.

That game was overall pretty well received and I consider it pretty successful. Later we licensed it to a partner studio who then turned it into a mobile game under the new title, “Chrono Space.”

I do have a big regret with this game: it’s too hard. In hindsight I would have designed some sort of game mechanic that allowed the players to adjust the difficulty in game as they played, via an ability to send bonus waves, extra challenges you could opt for, etc…
